Hollywood Calling For Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan touted to be the second richest actor in the world, SRK clearly has won hearts not just in India, but the world over. Hollywood director Brett Ratner has expressed a desire to work with Shah Rukh Khan and has now put Shah Rukh Khan among his favourite actors.

Ratner recently tweeted, “My favorite actors ever are John Cazale, Sterling Hayden, Peter Sellers, Timothy Carey, John Cassavetes, and of course Shah Rukh Khan, Robert Deniro and Al Pacino!”

SRK returned the compliment by re-tweeting on the trailer of Ratner’s upcoming film, Hercules, saying, “wow…a man with a cause…”

Ratner also tweeted to SRK saying, “I would love to work with you one day!! Big fan!!!.”

To which, Shah Rukh Khan replied: “It would be my honour. I am an avid follower of ur work & a huge fan of ur films. Would love to come and see you work on sets one day.”

Brett Ratner is known for his films like the Rush Hour series and X-Men: The Last Stand and is all geared up for his film Hercules. Hercules is an adventure film directed by Brett Ratner and starring Dwayne Johnson (in multiple roles), Ian McShane, Reece Ritchie, Ingrid Bolso Berdal, Joseph Fiennes, and John Hurt.

The film is based on the graphic novel Hercules: The Thracian Wars and is slated to release on July 25, 2014.

Narendra Modi's Tough love Energises Bureaucrats

NEW DELHI (Reuters) - Prime Minister Narendra Modi has told India's civil servants to throw out dusty files, clear clutter from corridors and may even demand that they work a six-day week.
The apparatchiks? They are apparently loving it.
Within days of taking office, Modi issued 10 administrative commandments. The first: Build Up Confidence in the Bureaucracy.
"This is unprecedented. Power has been shifted," said Suhaib Ilyasi, editor of Bureaucracy Today, a professional journal.
"The bureaucrats are feeling happy - even though they will have to work harder," added Ilyasi. In a readers' poll, more than 70 percent backed Modi's shakeup.
It's a huge turnaround for a state apparatus that, despite recruiting its top cadres through tough competitive examinations, has been ranked Asia's worst by one political risk consultancy.
In a two-pronged attack, Modi has targeted slovenliness in government offices - often grimy places where red spit from chewed betel nut stains walls, toilets are rarely cleaned, and discarded furniture and rotting files clog corridors.
In an edict seen by Reuters he demanded "hygiene and cleanliness". Offices must be "cleared and spruced up"; each department should scrap 10 archaic rules; and forms should be no longer than one page.
Change has been dramatic at government buildings across the colonial-era heart of New Delhi. Outside the Agriculture Ministry, unused files and old computers were piled up to be taken to a junk yard. Missing ceiling tiles have been replaced in passageways to cover loose cables.
The Health Ministry issued a statement saying that 35 steel cabinets, three water coolers and 40 chairs had been cleared from its corridors. The Ministry of Women and Child Development has launched an tender to auction off "obsolete/unusable/unserviceable items".
Modi also wants bureaucrats to think creatively and take risks to overcome administrative paralysis that set in over the past decade as the previous government became engulfed in a series of corruption scandals.
He has abolished a slew of cabinet committees, concentrated power in the Prime Minister's Office and is expected to overhaul a Soviet-style Planning Commission.
Modi's gruelling schedule has ministerial secretaries - the top-ranking civil servants - rushing to keep up.
And for some, old habits die hard.
"I too want to clean my room," said one senior bureaucrat, surveying an office table covered with stacks of files. "But there is a fear I may lose a document which could prove fatal.

The country’s second biggest information technology company, Infosys, appoints former SAP executive Vishal Sikka as the new Chief Executive Officer and managing director with effect from August 1, 2014.
Vikas Sikka was a member of the Executive Board of SAP AG and the Global Managing Board, heading all SAP products and innovation. His global responsibilities included development and delivery of products including applications, analytics, cloud, database & technology and mobile.
Infosys Executive Chairman Narayan Murthy and his son Rohan Murthy will be stepping down on June 14, 2014. However, Narayana Murthy will continue on the board till October 10 as Non-Executive Chairman.
Shares in Infosys Ltd gained 3.8 percent in value-buying on Wednesday, according to Reuters. The stock has fallen 6.03 percent after the announcement of the general election results on May 16, as against a 7.5 percent rally in the Nifty.

“I’ve been working round the clock ever since I started. Now, I want to spend time with family, enjoy being a homemaker and a wife. I’ll complete the films I’ve already committed to and then take a break. But acting is in my blood; only there is a change in my priorities now. No more commercial potboilers for me,” she signs off.

NASA’s Design for A Warp Drive Spaceship Is AMAZING

The real-life Enterprise could one day take us to other star systems

This is what the ship that allows us to explore the galaxy will look like, according to NASA scientists.
The concept is still in the very early experimental stage, but if these 3D renderings are anything to go by, we’re already SO FREAKING EXCITED.
Dr Harold “Sonny” White is working on the warp drive program at NASA’s Johnson Space Centre, and came up with this concept with 3D artist Mark Rademaker, Jesus Diaz reports for Sploid. You can see more of their amazing images here.
As Rademaker explained to io9, the design involves “a sleek ship nestled at the center of two enormous rings, which create the warp bubble”.
White has spent his career working on ways to propel spacecrafts to faster than the speed of light, and this model would do so by bending the space around it, making the distance shorter.
This means, Diaz writes, that the Enterprise wouldn’t break Einstein’s theory of relativity, as within its little bubble it wouldn’t be moving faster than light.
And it turns out, White and his team are closer to this goal than you might think.
As Gizmodo explains, they’ve already starting experimenting with tiny warp bubbles:
Working at NASA Eagleworks—a skunkworks operation deep at NASA's Johnson Space Center—Dr White's team is trying to find proof of those loopholes. They have "initiated an interferometer test bed that will try to generate and detect a microscopic instance of a little warp bubble" using an instrument called the White-Juday Warp Field Interferometer.
White believes that if his work is successful, it will create an engine that could get us to Alpha Centauri in two weeks. He's created the road map below of steps that need to be taken..

HYDERABAD: TRS legislator from Bhoopalapalli,S Madhusudanachari, will be named speaker of the Telangana Assembly on Tuesday as all parties, including the Congress, TDP, YSRCP and Left parties unanimously supported his candidature on Monday.

Pro-tem speaker K Jana Reddy will announce Madhusudanachari's election in the Assembly after two MIM members - Akbaruddin Owaisi (Chandrayanagutta) and Mumtaz Ahmad Khan (Yakutpura), both of whom were not present in the House on Monday - take oath on Tuesday.

Even as the ruling TRS is looking to nominate its Medak legislator Padma Devender Reddy to the deputy speaker's post, TDP floor leader Erraballi Dayakar Rao told TOI that the opposition parties were demanding the post for one of their members. Sources said the deputy speaker issue will be decided at an all-party meeting convened by chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Tuesday.

A student of Kakatiya University, 58-year-old Madhusudanachari is a post-graduate in English literature. He joined active politics in 1982 and was TDP MLA from Bhoopalapalli between 1994 and 1999. He is one of the founder members of the TRS when it was launched in 2001. Contesting on the TRS ticket, he lost to Gandra Venkataramana Reddy of the Congress in 2009. However, he trounced Reddy in the just concluded Assembly polls.

"It is a great honour to be the presiding officer of the first Assembly of Telangana. I will discharge my duties with a sense of balance," Madhusudanachari told TOI. When he filed his nomination at Assembly secretary Raja Sadaram's chamber, Madhusudanachari was accompanied by the CM and the leaders of the opposition parties including J Geeta Reddy (Congress), Dayakar Rao (TDP), P Venkateswaraulu (YSRCP), Sunnam Rajaih (CPM), and Devarkonda Ravindra (CPI).

Earlier in the day, governor ESL Narasimhan administered the oath to Jana Reddy as pro-tem speaker at Raj Bhavan at 9.30 am. The first day session of the Assembly was convened at 11 am when 117 of the total 119 members took oath. While most of them took the oath in Telugu in the name of God, some like Geetha Reddy (Congress), Padmvathi Uttam Kumar Reddy (Congress), Rekha Naik (TRS), and Shakeel Ahmed (TRS) preferred to take it in English. All MIM members stuck to Urdu, while Raja Singh (BJP) was the only member to take the oath in Hindi.

The House was adjourned at 1 pm following which the CM convened a meeting with the floor leaders of the opposition parties to arrive at a consensus over Madhusudanachari's candidature as speaker. Tuesday has been earmarked for the election of the speaker and deputy speaker while the governor is scheduled to address the joint session of the Assembly and Council on Wednesday.

On Thursday, the House will take up the debate on the motion on vote of thanks to the governor when the opposition members are expected to take the government to task over the farm loan waiver scheme.
