Earlier, Deccan Chargers won the toss and elected to bat first, Andrew Symonds has scored 50 runs and got run-out while taking a single. Herschelle Gibbs scored 45 and the Skipper of DC Adam Gilchrist has scored 38 in 17 balls with 4 fours and 3 sixers with a strike rate of 223.53. Deccan chargers scored 190/4 in their 20 overs. Albie Morkel and MS Dhoni both scored 42 runs each which helped Chennai Super Kings to cross the 100 runs mark. The bowling side Ravichandran Ashwin took 1 wicket. The fielding was good, DC’s 3 batsmen got run-out.
Dhoni said – Disappointed with the loss but we realise that this is just the beginning. We could have done a lot better but the lack of exposure to T20 in recent times went against us. Gilly really batted well but we could have restricted them to around 170. We are doing well at practise, so it is important that we do the execution right.
