Sri Krishnashtami is also known as Krishna Janmashtami,Gokulashtami,Srikrishna Jayanti.
Krishna Janmashtami is on the Ashtami tithi the eighth day of the dark half or Krishna Paksha of the month of Bhadrapada in the Hindu calendar, when the Rohini Nakshatra is ascendant in the 2011 the festival will be celebrated on 22nd August in North India and on 21st August in South Indian.
The handi is a clay pot filled with buttermilk that was positioned at a convenient height prior to the event. The topmost person on the human pyramid tries to break the handi by hitting it with a blunt object mostly nariyal (coconut) is preferred being a sign of purity,truth and other good terms in hindu religion. When that happens the buttermilk is spilled over the entire group, symbolizing their achievement through unity. Various handis are set up locally in several parts of the city, and groups of youngsters, called govinda, travel around in trucks trying to break as many handis as possible during the day.

Telangana Bandh today - Telangang Student JAC
Chief Minister central government decided remove 14f, Chidambaram to meet President regarding this issue, state ministers are continue there Ministry duties from tomorrow, 10th august i.e.. Tomorrows bandh will continue said OUJAC. The agitations in Osmania University will not stop till 14f official removed. TDP chief N.Chandrababu Naidu welcomed the government decision.
Telangana region is part of Andhra Pradesh state in southern India. It constitutes Hyderabad, Adilabad, Karimnagar, Khammam, Mahaboobnagar, Medak, Nalgonda, Nizamabad, RangaReddy and Warangal districts. Telangana region is one of the least developed regions in India. Rampant poverty, illiteracy, malnourished children, child labor, farmer suicides, unemployment, water scarcity and electricity shortage are some of the problems of this region. There are millions of people who are not fortunate enough to send their children to schools or feed their children three time a day, or provide safe drinking water to their families in this area.
The bandh in Telangana which was proposed to be organised last week by students' JAC with the support of the TRS has now been scheduled for August 10.
The students JAC chairman, Pidamarthi Ravi, said the bandh was being organised to demand scrapping of Clause 14 (f) of Presidential Order to pave way for declaration of Hyderabad as a non-free zone for the purpose of services. If the government did not take steps even after the bandh, the JAC would organise ‘Chalo BHEL' on August 13 and 14 to obstruct the written exam for recruitment of sub-inspectors of police in BHEL township.
The JAC had actually called the bandh on August 5 but was postponed as it happened to be the first Friday of the holy month of Ramzan. The organisation then contemplated having the bandh on August 8 (Monday) which was also dropped due to lack of preparation. After a meeting of the steering committee of the panel on Sunday, it was finally decided to go ahead with the bandh on August 10 when no other programmes by Telangana organisations were scheduled. The JAC would review the situation next day and plan out ‘Chalo BHEL' effectively, Mr. Ravi said. The political JAC chairman M. Kodandaram welcomed the decision of the students to organise the bandh on Wednesday.

Shriya Saran was born in Dehradun to Pushpendra Saran and Neeraja Saran. Deepan confirms that Shriya will now play the role. This will be Shriya's third Malayalam movie after the Mammootty-Prithviraj hit Pokkirri Raja and Mohanlal's Casanova. Hero will also star Srikanth in an important role.
