Acclaimed director Shankar is making a Sci-Fi film “Robo” (“Endhiran” in Tamil) with Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai and a budget of Rs 100 Crore. With lot of visual special effects required for the film,Hollywood experts have been signed up for the work.
Hollywood’s Stan Winston Studio has created an android replica of Rajinikanth for the film. The special effects studio has worked on films like “Terminator”, “Aliens” and ”Predator”. This is the first Indian film the Studio is working.
Hollywood’s most acclaimed technician Mary E Vog, who worked on the costumes in “Batman Return”, has designed the costumes for Rajini and Aishwarya. Yuen Woo-Ping, who arranged fight scenes in films like “Matrix”, has choreographed the action sequences in “Robo”. In addition, Oscar winning AR Rahman has composed music.
“Robo” will also have an English version, in addition to Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. The film is planned for release in the summer of 2010.
