Hindus laud Pope’s idea of fighting “spiritual pollution”
Acclaimed Hindu statesman Rajan Zed has applauded Pope Benedict for reportedly stressing combating “the many products polluting the mind and heart” during Mass for the feast of Pentecost in Vatican City.
His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI reportedly said, “And just as there exists atmospheric pollution, which poisons the environment and living beings, so there exists a pollution of the heart and of the spirit, which mortifies and poisons spiritual existence.”
Zed, who is president of Universal Society of Hinduism, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, said that ancient Hindu scripture Bhagavad-Gita also talked about purifying the soul. Lord Krishna said in Gita: Nothing on earth purifies like spiritual wisdom.
