Rajeev Motwani was a professor of Computer Science at Stanford University. He died on June 5, 2009 in a swimming pool accident that occurred at his home. He was an early advisor and supporter of companies including Google and PayPal, and a special advisor to Sequoia Capital.
A computer science pioneer, Dr Rajeev Motwani, Stanford University professor and IIT Kanpur alumnus, who co-authored the famous ‘Page Rank’ paper with his graduate students Sergey Brin and Larry Page (who later founded Google), passed away in Silicon Valley over the weekend. May the search he helped start, carry on forever. RIP.
