Shah Rukh Khan And Ajay Devgn Patch Up

Shah Rukh Khan And Ajay Devgn Patch Up

Superstar Shah Rukh Khan looks all set to team up with Ajay Devgan for a new film produced by his buddy, Karan Johar.
The buzz has triggered off widespread curiosity within the film industry, considering SRK and Ajay have never been known to be the best of friends.
Though Shah Rukh has dished out a series of blockbusters with Ajay's superstar wife Kajol over the years, the two actors never saw eye to eye. 'If the project happens, it will mark the biggest patch-up in Bollywood in recent times,' an industry insider said.

Ajay Devgn, who was shooting at a school in Bandra, for Singham Returns, was pleasantly surprised to see Shah Rukh Khan visit his set.
Well, Shah Rukh Khan was driving past Mehboob Studio when he spotted Rohit Shetty’s Man Friday, Subhash. Subhash informed Shah Rukh Khan that Ajay Devgn, Rohit Shetty and Kareena Kapoor were shooting at a school close by.
Now instead of heading home, Shah Rukh Khan took a slight detour and went over to the Singham Returns shoot. He surprised everyone by walking up to Ajay and giving him a warm hug.
Those present on the set state that Rohit and Kareena’s jaws dropped on seeing the bonhomie between the two superstars, who had had a bitter fallout during the clash of their Diwali releases – Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Son Of Sardaar in 2012.
While Rohit has always wanted the two most important men in his life, Ajay and Shah Rukh to warm up to one another, what happened on the sets of Singham Returns left him stunned. This meeting was unexpected, spontaneous and emotional.
Couple of years ago Ajay Devgn had stated, “Personally, I have never had a fight with Shah Rukh. Kajol maintains her equations, I maintain mine. Professionally, he reminded me, through others, that he was also the producer of Jab Tak Hai Jaan. So, he was on the other side of the firing line. Hence, technically, my fight was also against him. He made no attempts to rectify the wrong Adi and he did. I wasn’t going to give up what I believed in. That’s why there is no equation between Shah Rukh and me.”
On the other hand, Shah Rukh Khan too spoke about the controversery during the time the release of Jab Tak Hain Jaan and Son of Sardaar.
“I am no one to speak about the release of Son of Sardaar and Jab Tak Hain Jaan together. It’s the producer’s lookout. Ajay is not my enemy and screen distribution is not my call.”
Anyways, as they say all’s well that end’s well and post this meeting, it seems, things will warm up between both Ajay and Shah Rukh.

Modi Disbands Four Cabinet Committees

                       PM Disbands 4 Cabinet Committees

Government dispenses away with four Cabinet Committees, most work to be taken over by one on economic affairs

Continuing his endeavour to bring down government structures and to incorporate efficiency, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday disbanded four cabinet committees, including one on prices, while deciding to set up a super cabinet committee on economic affairs to take over the work of three of them.

The ministers who will constitute this super committee were not named on Tuesday. An official announcement said the PM will also re-constitute four other important cabinet committees: Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) that handles all high-level defence and security matters, the Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC) that recommends to the President all senior bureaucratic appointments and postings, the Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs (CCPA), which is a sort of small cabinet and the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs.

The most intriguing was the announcement of imminent reconstitution of the CCS, which used to have the Prime Minister, the Defence Minister, the Home Minister, the Foreign Minister and the Finance Minister as members. It was not clear whether PM Modi wants to expand or reduce its size.

The disbanding of the Cabinet Committee on Prices too came as a surprise decision, as it comes at a time when the government has just committed to tackling inflation and bringing down prices. Its work will be now handled by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, which will also handle the work of two other disbanded bodies — the Cabinet Committee on World Trade Organisation (WTO) matters and the Cabinet Committee on Unique Identification Authority of India related issues.

The announcement said the WTO matters, whenever necessary, will be handled by the full Cabinet, while the second separate committee was not needed since all major decisions about the unique identity (UID) have been already taken.

Another committee that was disbanded was the Cabinet Committee on Management of Natural Calamities. Instead of the ministers involved in tackling such emergencies, the committee of secretaries headed by the Cabinet Secretary will be constituted whenever natural calamities occur, the announcement added.

Disbanded Cabinet Committees:
on Prices
on World Trade matters
on Management of Natural Calamities
on Unique Identification Authority of India

Cabinet Committees to be re-constituted:
on Security

Appointments Committee of Cabinet
on Political Affairs
on Parliamentary Affairs

Maria Sharapova Grand Slam Title 2014

Maria Sharapova Grand Slam Title 2014

Russian tennis sensation Maria Sharapova won her fifth Grand Slam title after beating Simona Halep in the French Open women's singles final on Saturday, bringing her level with Martina Hingis on the all-time list, 10 years after she won her first major at Wimbledon

Maria Sharapova won her second French Open title in three years at Roland Garros on Saturday, defeating Romania's Simona Halep 6-4, 6-7 (5/7), 6-4 in a gripping final, the first to go the full distance in Paris in 13 years and the second longest on record. (Maria Sharapova vs Simona Halep French Open Final Highlights)

It was the 27-year-old Russian's fifth Grand Slam title, bringing her level with Martina Hingis on the all-time list, 10 years after she won her first major at Wimbledon 2004.

Sharapova, who completed a career sweep of all four Grand Slam titles in Paris in 2012 before losing to Serena Williams last year, also moved to number two on the all-time prize money earnings, with only the American ahead of her.

But it took all her legendary grit and resolve to recover from the agonising loss of the second set on a tie-break after she had stood just two points away from the title at 5/3.

"It's the toughest Grand Slam final I have ever played," said Sharapova.

"I can't believe that at 27 I have won the French Open more times than any other Grand Slam."

The consolation for Halep, whose meteoric rise to the top bracket in women's tennis over the last 18 months has projected her as a potential champion, was that she will climb to a career-high third in the world rankings.

"I wish to have many more (Grand Slam finals), but this will be special for me all my life. I had two incredible weeks here and I played my best tennis," she said

The two finalists reached the championship match in starkly contrasting styles.

Fourth-seeded Halep did not drop a single set in her six matches, while seventh-seed Sharapova needed to battle back from first set losses in her three previous outings.

But experience was massively on the Russian's side. This was her ninth Grand Slam final dating back 10 years, while Halep was playing in her first at the age of 22.

Sharapova also towered over her opponent at 1.88 metres (6 feet 2 inches) compared to Halep's 1.68 metres (5 feet six inches).

Earlier before the final, Maria Sharapova agreed that the French Open has shown that a new wave of women's tennis talent is on the rise, but at just 27 she says she has no intention of rolling over just yet.

Sharapova said that she has been impressed by the new blood on show in Paris. "I think this tournament has showed and displayed that throughout the whole two weeks," she said Friday.

"I got a chance to play against two of them in this tournament, and both played at a very high level. I think that shows many good things to come from the young generation."

The Russian should know what it takes to accumulate success at a young age, having staged a spectacular burst onto the world stage in 2004 when, as a raw 17-year-old, she demolished Serena Williams in the Wimbledon final.

Since then she has had her ups and downs with Grand Slam successes and world number one status, but also injuries and loss of form.

Currently though she is playing some of the best tennis of her career, having won back-to-back titles in Stuttgart and Madrid in the buildup to Paris.

On Saturday, she showed she is not yet done with her career and her tally of Grand Slams by winning her second French Open title, in a year where all the top three seeds in Serena Williams, Li Na and Agnieszka Radwanska crumbled in the first week itself.

Dr P Narayana, who runs the popular Narayana Group of educational institutions, has also been made a minister.

Political observers said Naidu had played a masterstroke by inducting the BJP in the ministry, ensuring that the Centre pays attention to the development of the state he leads.

All districts of the state have got representation in the Cabinet except Kadapa, which is a YSR Congress Party bastion. Two MLAs each of East Godavari, West Godavari, Guntur and Anantapur, and three of Krishna district are now ministers.

Keeping his election promises, the first decision of Naidu as CM was to sign a file related to waiver of crop loans and loans to women self-help groups and weavers. A committee will be constituted to frame guidelines for the loan waiver, and will have to submit its report in 45 days.

Although Naidu had personally invited newly sworn in Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao and YSR Congress Party leader Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy to the swearing-in, both stayed away. While KCR cited a tight schedule, Jagan said he did not want to be part of the “pomp and extravagance” of Naidu’s oath-taking.

But the extravagant show with folk and cultural programmes did see senior political leaders, film stars and business
