IPL controversy-Praful Patel Daughter Purna patel | Mystery of purna patel in IPL

It seems that the controversy surrounding the IPL franchisees is far from over. Although many observers had speculated that with the resignation of former Union External Affairs minister Shashi Tharoor the IPL controversy would recede to a certain extent, it seems unlikely in the wake of another senior minister, Praful Patel as well as her daughter Poorna Patel’s name emerging in this regard.

The association with Praful Patel with the IPL controversy has been brought to light after a leading news source reported that the Civil Aviation Minister’s personal secretary had sent an email to Shashi Tharoor which contained documents that featured details of the franchisee valuations of the IPL teams. It has been stated that Praful Patel’s personal secretary Champa Bharadwaj had mailed the details toShashi Tharoor on March 19, which is just two days prior to the opening of the bids for the new IPL teams.

At the same time, it has also came to light that the documents were mailed just about two hours after the documents were received by Praful Patel’s daughter Poorna Patel, who is known to be the hospitality manager of IPL after it was reportedly mailed her by IPL CEO Sundar Raman. While reacting to the revelations, the IPL CEO has added that he has no clue what made Poorna Patel forward the mail to the Civil Aviation Minister’s office.

Early Life
Nita Ambani, born on 1st Nov, 1963, grew up in the suburbs of Mumbai and hails from a middle class family. Her father was a senior Birla executive. Nita Ambani has always had a keen interest in Indian classical dance and wanted to pursue a career in dance. While her mother aspired for her to become a chartered accountant, Nita Ambani now holds qualifications as a teacher and an interior designer. Nita Ambani is a Commerce Graduate from Narsee Monjee College of Commerce & Economics, Vile Parle, Mumbai University.

Nita Ambani has been associated with Dhirubhai Ambani International School since its inception in June 2003. She is the chairperson of the school which is located in Mumbai. The Dhirubhai Ambani International School is based on Indian as well as an international curriculum that aims to develop a new model for education at the school level in India. The school is counted as one of the premium schools of Mumbai and is one of the 37 in India that offer the International Baccalaureate Program. She has also been heading the Dhirubhai Ambani Foundation which is a non-profit organization primarily devoted towards the promotion of education and health care services for the needy and under privileged in India. Nita Ambani co-owns the IPL team Mumbai Indians.

Major achievements
Nita Ambani was recipient of the Samaj Seva Vishwa Bhushan at the Bharat Nari Shakti award function which was held on the International Women’s Day in 2005.

Jessica Lal was a model in New Delhi, who was working as a celebrity barmaid at a crowded socialite party when she was shot dead on April 29, 1999 by Manu Sharma, the son of Vinod Sharma, a wealthy Congress politician in Haryana, as the murderer. Today on April 19, 2010 The Supreme Court has upheld the life sentence given to Manu Sharma for the murder of model Jessica Lall.

Lall was murdered 11 years ago at a Delhi restaurant by Sharma, “It has given us a lot of satisfaction,” said Sabrina Lall, Jessica’s sister, who has been leading the campaign for justice for her sister’s death.

A trial court in Delhi first acquitted Sharma in 2006. The Delhi High Court then reversed that decision.

Sharma appealed to the Supreme Court against the high court’s verdict that found him guilty.

The Supreme Court Monday dismissed an appeal by Manu Sharma, Congress leader Venod Sharma's son, challenging his conviction and life sentence in the April 1999 murder of ramp model Jessica Lall.

A bench of Justices P. Sathasivam and Swatanter Kumar upheld the Delhi High Court judgement, which convicted Sharma, who is serving life sentence in Tihar jail. Manu Sharma challenged his conviction and life sentence awarded by the Delhi High Court in December 2006.

The bench dismissed former union law minister Ram Jethmalani's contention that the Delhi High Court had convicted his client under media pressure. It said that the prosecution has proved Sharma's culpability in the murder beyond doubt.

Currently, TCS has about 1,44,000 employees in its payroll and plans to hire another 30,000 in the next financial year. The company has not announced any salary hike last year due to recession.

The net profit of TCS in the Q4 2009 stood at Rs 1,333 crores which was up by 7% Y-o-Y. Similarly, its net profit in Q3 was Rs 1824 crores which is 34% gain Y-o-Y and 11% up Q-o-Q.

According to analysts, the salary hike decision is primarily based on the good returns. However, the hike will impact its net margins for the upcoming year.
