Rudranil plays Banshi Das a father who dresses up like Charlie Chaplin and entertains people at birthday parties. While he believes that what he does is art the people he works for don’t think and people just enjoy. But Chaplin isn’t bogged down by anything, even in extreme poverty. Other Characters played by child actor Soham Rachita Bhattacharya, Mir . Director Srijit plays a director in his first full fledged film role.The story of Chaplin revolves around Bangshi who is a great fan of Charlie Chaplin and earns his living by impersonating him and Bangshi's son Nemoa who wants to have birthday parties like other kids that his daddy can hardly afford.
He is very poor. He lives in a Kolkata slum with his seven year old son Nimua. They live their own, distinct dreams. Bangshi dreams of making it big as an actor on the big screen and Prosenjit is his icon. Nimuas dream is to celebrate his birthday like the birthdays of the children his father performs in. He sometimes goes with his father. The narrative revolves around the conflict Bangshi suffers when his dreams of becoming a great star clash with the role he has to play as Nimuas father.Ren Ng developed the technology while working on his PhD at Stanford. The breakthrough, he said, is the DC MOTOR is able to capture more light than others.But because Lytro is still in stealth mode, it put the camera in a protective case, so Hernandez hasn't actually seen it.
