Unique Identification Authorityof india | chief Nandan Nilekani Concept

Maintaining that the biggest challenge the country faces today is of an identity divide, Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) chief Nandan Nilekani says that a lack of identity has denied the poor and the marginalized a chance to effectively participate in economic growth.

Nine months after he began his stint in the government set-up, Nilekani told TOI in an exclusive interview that the absence of an identity has only widened the divide between the rich and the poor in the country.

Removing apprehensions that the census exercise — which includes creation of a National Population Register (NPR) by taking biometric details of individuals — would lead to duplication of work, the former IT czar said, "It is very important for UIDAI if the data is collected as per UID standards."

The data collected by the Registrar General of India (RGI) in compliance with the UIDAI standards and specifications can be the basis for issuance of the unique identity number of residents.

Nilekani said that the unique identity number would come free of cost for poor, but those who can afford may have to pay a reasonable amount, which is still being worked out. The former corporate honcho said: "There will be no charge for the poor." For others, the the cost would be reasonable. "It is still being worked out."

The 16-digit number, he said, would be conveyed to the people through letters.

Clarifying the confusion that with the unique number there will be no need for other documents — date of birth or residential certificate — he said: "All documents will be required. But the identity of an individual will be taken care of."

Endoscopy & Ph 1st Test on May 3rd | Procedure for Ph Test

We have scheduled Chase's endoscopy for Monday, May 3rd at 9am. His reflux has increased so we are looking for anything that will explain what is going on.

Procedure: A microscope will be used to look down his throat and into his stomach, and they will probably do a small biopsy of the stomach and duodenum (first section of the small intestine). He will be under general anesthesia for the procedure. While he is under, they will insert a probe into his stomach through his nose to measure ph levels. The probe will stay in for 12 hours and the top part will be taped to his cheek to try to prevent him from pulling at it. I will remove the probe at home after the 12 hours. for more...

Dancing With The Stars Week 6 Elimination

Comedian Niecy Nash and The Bachelor, Jake Pavelka, were at the top of the elimition list, but Niecy Nash managed to stay and Jake Pavelka was eliminated, with an emotional farewell.

Before the elimination, Chad Ochocinco was under the spotlight. Every week on Dancing With the Stars, the judges select a dance they wish to see again from Monday night. Ochocinco’s Argentine tango was chosen this week.

Ochocinco and his partner Cheryl Burke received an eight from every judge for a total of 24 points, their highest points for the season. For Chad this can be the turning point, he performed excellently in this competition so far and could very well win the whole thing.

Dancing With The Stars, the celebrity-studded reality show sent another celebrity contestant home last night. It was Jake Pavelka, who got voted off from the Dancing With The Stars on April 27.

With the elimination of Kate Gasselin last week, the show seemed to have lost a bit of glamor. This week Jake Pavelka, “The Bachelor”, and Niecy Nash were in the danger zone.

Prior to the judges’ decision, some of the fans predicted that it would be the turn for Niecy Nash to get eliminated. But, to their utter astonishment, they found ill-fated Jake Pavelka to have his appearance made felt last time on the show.

At his departing speech Jake Pavelka said this words with tears,

I can’t put into words how much I’ve enjoyed this, I didn’t imagine how hard it would be to say goodbye.

After the elimination of Jake Pavelka, we are left with five contestants, namely Nicole Scherzinger, Chad Ochocinco, Pam Anderson, Evan Lysacek, and Niecy Nash. The scores of Dancing with the Stars April 27 are as follows:

Nicole Scherzinger 36
Erin Andrews 34
Chad Ochocinco 31
Pam Anderson 30
Evan Lysacek 27
Niecy Nash 26

First National Bank | First National Bank Of Omaha | PNC National City branches

National City Corporation was a company based in Cleveland, Ohio, USA, founded in 1845; it was once one of the ten largest banks in America in terms of deposits, mortgages and home equity lines of credit. Subsidiary National City Mortgage is credited for doing the first mortgage in America. The company operated through an extensive banking network primarily in Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Florida, and Wisconsin, and also serves customers in selected markets nationally. Its core businesses included commercial and retail banking, mortgage financing and servicing, consumer finance, and asset management. The bank reached out to customers primarily through mass advertising and offered comprehensive banking services online. In its last years the company was commonly known in the media by the abbreviated NatCity, with its investment banking arm even bearing the official name NatCity Investments.

In 2007, National City Corp. ranked number 188 on the Fortune 500 list, and 9th in terms of revenue in the U.S. commercial banking industry with total assets of about $140 billion.

PNC Financial Services announced October 24, 2008 its purchase of National City for about $5.2 billion in stock with funds from the U.S. Treasury. The acquisition, which became formal on December 31, 2008, was described as a "take-under,"meaning the purchase price was below National City's market value.

PNC began to convert the National City branches to the PNC name on November 7th, 2009,which also saw the rebranding of National City Mortgage into PNC Mortgage and NatCity Investments fully merged into PNC Investments. In addition, National City's bank charter was merged into PNC's, effectively having the retail banking branches having yet to convert being legally known as PNC Bank, N.A., d/b/a National City Bank.
